Former President Donald Trump said he would throw his support behind his senior adviser Brian Jack if he ran for an open House seat in Georgia.
“Brian has been thinking about running to succeed Drew, as he has always sought to accomplish incredible things for Georgia and our Country. I encourage Brian, a Fayette County native, to go for it, pursue his dream, and run for Congress,” Mr. Trump wrote on Truth Social Thursday.
“He represents a New Generation of Leadership, and he will be a GREAT Congressman, working closely with me and other Republicans to fix the damage Joe Biden has done to our Country,” Mr. Trump said.
Mr. Jack, who worked with the Trump campaign in 2016 and served as his White House political director, would be running for Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District which is currently held by Rep. Drew Ferguson, a Republican who said in December he wouldn’t be running for another term.
Mr. Ferguson has represented the district since 2017. The district extends from the southern suburbs of Atlanta to the northern suburbs of Columbus.
Mr. Trump called Mr. Jack “a man of loyalty, honesty and integrity [who] will never let the fabulous people of Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District down.”
“Should he decide to run, Brian Jack has my Complete and Total Endorsement!” he said.
Mr. Jack has not announced he is running.
