Vice President Kamala Harris called for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza, representing the sharpest rebuke yet from this White House to Israel to lay down arms against Hamas terrorists.

Way to throw Israel under the bus, Kamala.

Israel, a sovereign nation, is trying to destroy an enemy that launched an unjustified assault on the Jewish people. Commanding an immediate cease-fire is to say Israel doesn’t have a right to defend itself.

But the Palestinians are hungry! — so said Harris.

“What we are seeing every day in Gaza is devastating,” she said, Axios reported. “We have seen reports of families eating leaves and animal feed, children dying from malnutrition and dehydration. Too many innocent Palestinians have been killed.”

But the Palestinian civilians are suffering! — so said Harris.

“Given the immense scale of suffering in Gaza, there must be an immediate ceasefire for at least the next six weeks. This is what is currently on the table [for peace and free-the-hostages deal],” she said. Axios reported.

Not to degrade the humanity of the Palestinian people — but they voted for this terror group, Hamas; they regularly called and continue to call for the eradication of the Jewish people; they demand Israel give back certain lands they see as their own — lands that biblically belong to the Israelis; lands that Israelis won in wars against enemies who were unprovoked.

Yes, unprovoked. Just like on Oct. 7.

The international community, the West and President Biden’s administration need to recognize the right of Israel to defend itself against terrorists, even when that defense leads to the deaths and suffering of innocent civilians. That is war. This is war. And this is war that was started by terrorists who hate Jews and who ought to be reviled and condemned, not emboldened and pitied; not excused and head-patted; not given a pass on violence and terror and elevated as a moral equivalent to nations of peoples with peaceful purposes and goodly intents, to include Israel.

“No excuses,” Harris said. “[Israel] must open new border crossings and not impose any unnecessary restrictions on the delivery of aid. They must ensure humanitarian convoys are not targeted and restore basic services and order in Gaza, so more food, water and fuel can reach those in need.”

Well, tell Hamas terrorists to stop taking the food and water and fuel intended as aid for Palestinian civilians.

Seems like a plan.

Harris did criticize Hamas, saying the terror group shows “no regard for innocent lives including the people of Gaza” and adding that “the threat Hamas poses to the people of Israel must be eliminated.”

No duh.

The question is how.

Israel has a plan and it’s called “total victory,” and it entails taking out the terrorists, all of ’em, yes, and then disarming all the bad guys in Gaza. Harris and her fellow feckless ones on Team Biden, and in the antisemitism halls of global governments, don’t like that plan because elections are coming and Donald Trump is beating Biden badly and Biden doesn’t need the bad publicity of a war in the Israeli region and the bad feelings that brings to Palestinian-supporting voters in Muslim-dominated areas, such as Michigan.

But reality speaks loudly.

And reality says that Harris, previously appointed border czar by Biden, ought to be worried about the thugs and gang members and drug and sex traffickers and Chinese communists and parasites and scum and potential terrorists illegally crossing our own borders to disappear into American parts unknown — and leave Israel alone.

It’s impossible to strike peace deals with people whose goal is to annihilate you. That’s what Hamas wants to do to the Jewish people. Failing to acknowledge that is to side with the terrorists and against Israel.
