Former President Donald Trump quickly racked up delegates in a series of lopsided wins in Super Tuesday‘s primary elections.

Mr. Trump grabbed his first win of the night in Virginia, beating former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley by nearly 30 percentage points.

He lost Vermont to his lone major competitor by roughly five points in a neck-and-neck race.

The former president picked up wins in North Carolina next with 74% of the vote to Ms. Haley’s 23%, followed by Tennessee with nearly 77%

In Oklahoma and Alabama, he grabbed over 80%. In Maine he saw roughly 60.4%. In Texas, which has the second most delegates up for grabs behind California, he got nearly 78%.

Massachusetts Republican voters chose Mr. Trump for the GOP nomination with 60%, and Arkansas chose him with roughly 76%. In Colorado, Mr. Trump grabbed 63.2% of the vote.

In California, he grabbed the highest number of delegates with roughly 73% of the vote.  Republican voters in Minnesota supported him with roughly 68%.

As results were being counted late Tuesday, Mr. Trump was leading Ms. Haley in Utah. Alaska finishes off Super Tuesday with results coming in after midnight.

Mr. Trump had won every primary and caucus ahead of Super Tuesday except for Washington, D.C., which Ms. Haley won with 62.8% of the vote.

The former president entered Tuesday’s race with 276 delegates to Ms. Haley’s 43. There are 865 delegates available Tuesday.

Even with the former president’s lead, he cannot mathematically grab enough delegates to clinch the majority tonight.
