President Biden’s wrongheaded decision to limit exports of liquefied natural gas jeopardizes the economic growth, defense and security of our country and our European allies (“Team Biden undermines American, European energy security,” web, March 18).

Companies invested in LNG production to meet global demand. The demand is there, but where is the U.S. LNG? U.S. firms are being forced to stop exporting so Mr. Biden can meet the demands of “the Squad” in Congress, led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, New York Democrat, and her out-of-touch green dreamers. Our sleepwalking president and Ms. Ocasio-Cortez have made America into a global laughingstock and an unreliable trading partner. This will likely have long-term damage to U.S. exports of other goods, possibly including agricultural exports.

Limiting LNG exports is the wrong policy at a time when the U.S. needs European nations to expand their military forces and modernize their military equipment so they can assist NATO forces in defending against a possible Russian assault against the Balkans and Poland. As the Russia-Ukraine war intensifies and Israel’s war against Hamas and other Arab terrorists expands across the Middle East, Mr. Biden’s decision to limit LNG exports has made the world more dangerous.
