Former President Trump asked if his White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson will be prosecuted for her disputed testimony about his actions toward his Secret Service driver on Jan. 6, 2021.

“Our great Secret Service has totally CRUSHED Cassidy Hutchinson’s (who I barely knew) made up (FAKE!) stories about me roughing up Secret Service Agents from the back seat of the Beast (Limo),” Mr. Trump wrote in a recent Truth Social post

He added, “Has she now changed her testimony? Will she be prosecuted for what she did and said? What about the Unselect J6 Committee? They destroyed almost everything, including real evidence and findings. What’s going to happen with them — Serious crimes have been committed?”

The Washington Times reached out to Ms. Cassidy’s attorneys for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Mr. Trump’s comments about Ms. Hutchinson come in the wake of a recent House Administration Oversight Subcommittee Jan. 6 protest report, which included testimony from Mr. Trump’s driver that day.

The driver, according to the report, contradicted Ms. Hutchinson’s testimony to the Jan. 6 Select Committee.

Ms. Hutchinson, who was an aide to then-White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, said she was told Mr. Trump tried to grab the wheel of the vehicle and steer it toward the U.S. Capitol after he made his remarks at the “Stop the Steal” rally near the White House.

However, the unnamed driver’s testimony in the report told the Jan. 6 committee “[President Trump] never grabbed the steering wheel.” He added, “I didn’t see him … lunge to try to get into the front seat at all.”

Additionally, the report notes corrections Ms. Hutchinson made to her testimony throughout interactions she had with the Jan. 6 committee.

Republicans accused members of the defunct Jan. 6 committee, including former Rep. Liz Cheney, Wyoming Republican, of suppressing the transcript.

Another transcript that GOP lawmakers say was suppressed by the Jan. 6 panel was testimony from a White House staffer that showed the former president offered 10,000 National Guardsmen to D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, who rejected them.

Democrats shot back that witness testimony was not suppressed and that the Jan. 6 committee was obligated to send certain transcripts to the White House for review and to protect the privacy of certain witnesses.

Mr. Trump, in another Truth Social post, recently called for Ms. Cheney and other members of the committee to be prosecuted over their actions.

“She should go to Jail along with the rest of the Unselect Committee,” Mr.Trump said of Ms. Cheney, adding that she and other members on the Jan. 6 panel suppressed evidence during their investigation.

Ms. Cheney shot back at Mr. Trump, calling his claims untrue.

“Lying in all caps doesn’t make it true, Donald,” she posted on X. “You know you and your lawyers have long had the evidence.”
