President Biden on Monday taped interviews with two major Hispanic radio news programs as a slew of recent polls show his support slipping among the once reliably Democratic voting bloc.

Mr. Biden taped interviews with El Genio Lucas hosted by Alex Lucas on Nueva Network and El Bueno, La Mala y El Feo with Raul Molinar on Univision Radio. Both will air Tuesday morning as Mr. Biden heads to the southwest for a series of campaign fundraisers.

The outreach comes as a New York Times/Siena College poll earlier this month revealed that former President Donald Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee, holds a six-point lead over Mr. Biden among Hispanic voters.

The poll said 46% of Hispanics would vote for Mr. Trump compared to 40% who would support Mr. Biden. It also revealed deep dissatisfaction with the president in a group that went heavily for Mr. Biden in 2020. Mr. Biden won 59% of the Hispanic vote in the last election, compared to 38% who voted for Mr. Trump, according to Pew Research.

Other polls revealed similar trouble for Mr. Biden when it comes to the Hispanic community. A USA Today/Suffolk University poll from late December showed Mr. Biden trailing Mr. Trump by 5 points among Hispanic voters and a Union poll showed the former president has a 4% lead over Mr. Biden.

Hispanics are frustrated with Mr. Biden’s handling of the economy as well as the chaos at the Southern border, where a record number of migrants have crossed into the U.S. since he took office.

The New York Times/Siena College poll was conducted from Feb. 25-28 and interviewed 980 Hispanic registered voters nationwide.
