Former President Donald Trump said he’s ruled out some well-known names as his running mate.

“I probably have a couple of people that you may know very well,” Mr. Trump told Newsmax’s Greg Kelly Wednesday, “some people that I didn’t think behaved properly.”

He added, “I’ve ruled some people out, but I’ve ruled a lot of people in. We have a lot of great people in the Republican Party, and they’ll do a terrific job … but certainly, I have people that I wouldn’t want as a vice president.”

The former president, who is the presumptive presidential nominee for the Republican Party, didn’t mention anyone he’s eliminated from the list by name.

He confirmed a list of potential vice presidents last month: Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, along with Florida Rep. Byron Donalds, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem and former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard.

Some have said he should choose former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who quit the race after more losses in the Super Tuesday primaries, as a way to boost support from women, but both shot down the idea.

When Ms. Haley dropped out, she didn’t endorse the former president, instead saying he has to “earn” the backing of those who were ready to vote for her.
