Quarterback Desmond Ridder is joining the Arizona Cardinals in a deal that sends wide receiver Rondale Moore to the Atlanta Falcons, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The Falcons agreed to a four-year, $180 million contract with quarterback Kirk Cousins this week, signaling the end of Ridder’s time in Atlanta. The 2022 third-round NFL pick out of the University of Cincinnati started 17 games for the Falcons and found mixed success.
Ridder projects to back up Kyler Murray in Arizona. After suffering a knee injury in 2022, Murray started eight games in 2023, helping the Cardinals go 3-5 in the last half of the season.
Moore, a three-year pro, is a Purdue product who secured 40 catches for 352 yards in 2023 with the Cardinals.
