The Washington Commanders made another unglamorous but valuable move Wednesday, agreeing to terms with Pro Bowl special teams player Jeremy Reaves.
The 2022 All-Pro confirmed the deal on social media. His two-year contract was first reported by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
“Commanders fans! I’m glad to be coming back HOME! I got unfinished business,” Reaves wrote on X. “Let’s run it back.”
The 27-year-old has spent his entire six-season career with Washington. Though he’s officially listed as a safety, the University of South Alabama product has made his greatest impact on kickoffs and punts.
Reaves suffered a torn ACL in October and missed most of the 2023 season. He expects to recover in time for the 2024 season.
The Commanders posted a video of a smiling Reaves on X after they agreed to a contract.
“Been smiling ear to ear,” Reaves wrote on social media.
