Comedian Bill Maher predicts President Biden will lose in the upcoming election.

Speaking on his podcast to tech journalist Kara Swisher, Mr. Maher expressed his belief that Mr. Biden had failed to rise to the occasion.

“I would vote for [Mr. Biden’s] head in a jar of blue liquid over Donald Trump, but that doesn’t mean that I’m — first of all, I think it’s a moot point at this point. He’s going to lose,” he said.

Mr. Maher’s criticism centered primarily on Mr. Biden’s age, referring to him as a “feeble 81-year-old man.” Ms. Swisher countered Mr. Maher’s viewpoint by suggesting that a “silent majority” of voters would support Biden to avoid a return to chaos.

“We don’t want chaos again,” Ms. Swisher said.

But Mr. Maher said the “silent majority” might support Mr. Trump instead. He explained that the “shy Trump voter” is someone who plans to vote for the convicted felon but prefers to keep it private due to social stigma.

“Do I think that’s absolutely possible, what you described? Yes. Or it could not be, and I can’t tell the difference,” he said. “The shy Trump voter is the one who is going to vote for Trump but doesn’t want you to know it because it’s a little déclassé.”

Mr. Trump holds a slight lead in the Hill/Decision Desk HQ average of polls, although Mr. Biden has gained ground in surveys conducted after Trump was convicted of 34 felonies last week.

The key question looming ahead of the Nov. 5 election is whether Mr. Trump’s conviction will shift momentum in Mr. Biden’s favor. While it will take some time to get accurate polling data, establishment Republican Karl Rove suggested on Fox News that the guilty verdict could cost Mr. Trump crucial swing voters in states like Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania.
