Former President Donald Trump railed against President Biden and Fox News hours before he is set to battle it out with the president on the debate stage.
The former president went on an all-caps rant on his social media account, Truth Social: “Joe Biden is a threat to democracy, and a threat to the survival and existence of our country itself!!!”
In a post just a few minutes later, Mr. Trump bashed Fox News for having “Biden people” on its shows.
“Why does Fox News put on so many Biden people, like Michael Tyler, communications director for Biden, who spewed lies with very little pushback? Amazing!!!” he wrote.
Right after, the show had Trump spokeswoman Caroline Sunshine on to speak as well.
Mr. Trump has not been a fan of Fox News lately. He bashed a poll the network put out last week showing him trailing Mr. Biden in a new national poll, calling it “TRASH!” and accused the outlet of using a “biased, Democrat-leaning sample of voters.”
Biden campaign spokesperson Ammar Moussa responded to the posts on X by saying Mr. Tyler was “living RENT FREE in Donald Trump’s head.”
In a third post, Mr. Trump hit Mr. Biden on his policies, saying they’re “a nightmare for women when it comes to the border and immigration!”
The two posts about the president could be a preview of a few arguments Mr. Trump will make later on the CNN debate stage. The Southern border has been a huge talking point for Republicans throughout this election cycle.
The debate is set for 9 p.m. EDT at CNN headquarters in Atlanta. It will be simulcasted by other news outlets including Fox News.
