Former President Donald Trump says he’s decided “in my mind” who his running mate will be, but he hasn’t told anyone yet.
The presumptive Republican nominee told NBC News on Saturday at a campaign stop in Philadelphia that he has decided, and the person may even be at the first debate between himself and President Biden on Thursday.
“They’ll be there,” Mr. Trump said. “I think we have a lot of people coming.”
His reported top potential picks are North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, and Sens. J.D. Vance of Ohio and Marco Rubio of Florida.
But others, including former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson, Sens. Tim Scott of South Carolina and Tom Cotton of Arkansas, and Reps. Elise Stefanik of New York and Byron Donalds of Florida, have also been considered.
Mr. Trump has said before he will probably announce his vice presidential selection at the Republican National Convention that will be held July 15-18 in Milwaukee.
