Former President Donald Trump’s campaign on Tuesday pointed to a Maryland woman allegedly murdered by an illegal immigrant, saying her death is evidence that President Biden’s latest border plan will continue the migrant crime surge.
Trump campaign spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt highlighted the death of Rachel Morin, whose naked and beaten body was found alongside a jogging trail in Bel Air, Maryland, in August. The suspect in the case is Victor Martinez Hernandez, an illegal immigrant who sneaked into the U.S. while fleeing criminal charges in El Salvador.
Ms. Leavitt noted that Mr. Biden announced the plan the same week Mr. Hernandez was arrested in connection with the murder.
“Biden doesn’t care about the American lives that will forever be destroyed by the illegal criminals he is importing; and Biden doesn’t care that law-abiding taxpayers crushed by inflation are forced to pay for free food, housing and health care for illegals,” she said in a statement. “Biden only cares about one thing — power— and that’s why he is giving mass amnesty and citizenship to hundreds and thousands of illegals who he knows will ultimately vote for him and the Open Border Democrat Party.
“Biden’s mass amnesty plan will undoubtedly lead to a greater surge in migrant crime, cost taxpayers millions of dollars they cannot afford, overwhelm public services, and steal Social Security and Medicare benefits from American seniors to fund benefits for illegals — draining the programs Americans paid into their entire working lives.”
President Biden on Tuesday announced his plan that would give lawful permanent residency and eventually citizenship to hundreds of thousands of undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens.
The administration estimates the plan could affect as many as 500,000 immigrants.
