Former President Donald Trump took to social media to attack Rep. Bob Good ahead of Tuesday’s Virginia Republican primary, saying he’s “bad for Virginia, and bad for the U.S.A.”

“He turned his back on our incredible Movement, and was constantly attacking and fighting me until recently, when he gave me a warm and ‘loving’ Endorsement — But really, it was too late! The damage had been done,” Mr. Trump posted on Truth Social.

Mr. Trump has not been a fan of Mr. Good, the chair of the conservative House Freedom Caucus, since he endorsed Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for the GOP presidential nomination before endorsing Mr. Trump when the governor dropped out.

Mr. Good faces state Sen. John McGuire in Tuesday’s primary.

“I just want to MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and the person that can most help me do that is Navy Seal and highly respected State Legislator, John McGuire, a true American Hero. John, who fought the Cartels on the Front Line, and then came home and fought the drug dealers in Virginia, will ALWAYS PUT AMERICA FIRST …,” Mr. Trump posted.

Mr. Good has held the seat for two terms since 2020, but now he is fighting to keep the seat as a Republican without the endorsement of the former president.

Mr. Trump said Monday on a tele-rally that if Mr. Good gets reelected, he “will stab Virginia in the back, sort of like he did with me.”

Still, Mr. Good has tried to maintain that he is a pro-Trump candidate.

“There are people with their own dishonest agenda, who don’t have the president’s interests in mind, who are in his ear lying to him about me and lying to him about this race,” Mr. Good said Saturday at a campaign stop in Campbell County. “Who here thinks President Trump knows me better than you do?”
