Former White House Communications Director Alyssa Farah Griffin said former President Donald Trump during a White House meeting discussed executing a person.

Ms. Griffin’s claim came during a Mediaite podcast with Aidan McLaughlin as she was asked to weigh in on former Trump officials who went from criticizing him to endorsing him.

Ms. Griffin recalled a meeting between Mr. Trump and his Attorney General William Barr where the president “straight up said that a staffer who leaked a story should be executed.”

She noted that Mr. Barr was questioned about the same meeting by CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, but wouldn’t give a straight answer. Mr. Barr, once a vocal critic of Mr. Trump, has since said he would vote for him.

“And Bill Barr kind of danced it and said, ’I don’t recall that specific instance, but there were others where we talked about executing people,’” Ms. Griffin said. “How do you rationalize that is a person fit in sound judgment to be president of the United States?”

Ms. Griffin also sounded off on former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who dropped out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination this year and, similar to Mr. Barr, went from going after Mr. Trump to supporting him.

She called Ms. Haley’s flip-flop “pathetic.”

“They’re reading the tea leaves. They know there’s a very real chance he’s going to be president again,” Ms. Griffin said. “And there’s not a lot of glory or victory in being right, but being on the wrong side of Trump, I think that’s ultimately what it comes down to.”
