A pair of crop dusters collided over a field near Morton, Texas, Friday, with a pilot dying and another seriously hurt.

The two pilots were the only people on board the two Air Tractor AT-502s when they crashed at 8:40 a.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The two planes were crop dusting a cotton field before the collision, the Cochran County Sheriff’s Office said, according to Lubbock CBS affiliate KLBK-TV.

One pilot was declared dead by first responders. The other was taken to a Lubbock hospital with serious injuries, the Texas Department of Public Safety said. Neither pilot has been publicly identified by authorities.

Footage of one of the plane’s wreckage from Lubbock NBC affiliate KCBD shows registration number N2032K. FAA records show the aircraft is owned by King Ag Leasing, based in Sudan, Texas.

The National Transportation Safety Board is in charge of the investigation.
