Look! Over there! It’s an insurrection!

And it’s happening right in the middle of an election in which “Democracy” is on the ballot!

You may, however, have a hard time finding much written about this insurrection in the political press because, well — and this is awkward — it is the political press leading the charge in this insurrection.

It’s not just the cable gasbags filling air time imploring President Biden to junk the whole Democratic primary and flush down the toilet the votes of tens of millions of Democratic voters over the past six months.

It is the popes, prophets and high priests in the Leftwing Media calling for this insurrection. Mr. Biden told Pastor George Stephanopoulos it would take the Lord Almighty to convince him to quit, and these people took that to be an invitation to play God.

No less than the editorial board of the Blessed New York Times has called on Mr. Biden to ditch Democracy and defy the will of the Democrat voters who selected him — and his addled brain — in the Democrat primary.

Mr. Biden, they tremble, “is engaged in a reckless gamble.”

Why? Well, of course, because “saving Democracy” for these people has never been about allowing the will of actual voters to be carried out. “Saving Democracy” is all about defying the will of voters, defeating Donald Trump and canonizing their own agenda.

These people are not even hiding it anymore.

“There are Democratic leaders better equipped to present clear, compelling and energetic alternatives to a second Trump presidency,” wrote the Times editorial board, Peace Be Upon Them. “There is no reason for the party to risk the stability and security of the country by forcing voters to choose between Mr. Trump’s deficiencies and those of Mr. Biden. It’s too big a bet to simply hope Americans will overlook or discount Mr. Biden’s age and infirmity that they see with their own eyes.”

The wonderful thing about moments of terrifying crisis is that it forces even the most dishonest people to suddenly become so clarifyingly honest.

Where were these encyclicals six months ago when the Democrat Party was rigging the Democrat primary to keep viable alternatives such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Rep. Dean Phillips from challenging Mr. Biden for the Democrat nomination? Why did the New York Times spend the past three years lying about and covering up Mr. Biden’s obvious “age and infirmity”?

But now that Democrat voters have had their say, the New York Times wants to summarily dismiss their clear wishes and the democratic process — all for purely partisan reasons.

The Washington Post famously rewrote its mission creed to “Democracy Dies in Darkness” as some kind of whiney attack on Mr. Trump. That paper’s editorial board jumped on the New York Times bandwagon (as usual) to say Mr. Biden would go down as some kind of hero if he defied the will of Democrat voters and the democratic process by suddenly quitting.

“If Mr. Biden successfully passed the torch, he might be remembered as a 21st-century Cincinnatus — a laudable president who shepherded the country out of the COVID-19 pandemic, returned a sense of normalcy following the Jan. 6, 2021 insurrection, rallied the West to defend Ukraine against Russia’s full-scale invasion, and signed into law ambitious national climate and industrial plans,” they wrote.

If it wasn’t clear how much the Washington Post clergy hates actual voters based on its enthusiastic endorsement of the current insurrection, just look at the list of doctrines for which it gives Mr. Biden thanks and praise.

In a strange way, you can actually “blame” (or credit) Mr. Trump for this current insurrection being carried out by the Leftwing Media.

By readily agreeing to last month’s debate deep in hostile territory on CNN, moderated by deeply jaundiced anti-Trumpers, Mr. Trump lured Mr. Biden out into the open. Mr. Biden could not have asked for friendlier terrain — or a friendlier audience.

And then Mr. Trump sat back and let Mr. Biden talk — or whatever that was. It was devastating. And since it was completely unfiltered, the New York Times and the rest of the Leftwing Media could not cover for him anymore.

For the 50 million viewers who tuned in — including Democrat viewers of CNN — they could not unsee what they saw and no amount of spin or claims of infallibility can change that now.

As Mr. Biden told lawmakers in his own party in a letter Monday, “The voters have voted. They have chosen me to be the nominee of the party.

“Do we now just say this process didn’t matter? That the voters don’t have a say?”

And the coup de grace: “I decline to do that.”

Kudos to Mr. Biden for standing up to this Media Insurrection.
