Video footage has surfaced of former President Donald Trump calling President Biden “a broken down pile of crap.”
The clip, published Wednesday by Daily Beast, shows Mr. Trump sitting on a golf cart and holding a pile of cash with his youngest son, Barron, sitting next to him.
He is heard asking how he performed at the debate in Georgia last week, and then describes Mr. Biden as an “old, broken down pile of crap.”
“He just quit, you know. He’s quitting the race, and that means we have [Vice President] Kamala [Harris],” Mr. Trump says in the video. “I think she’s gonna be better. She’s so bad. She’s so pathetic. She’s so f——— bad.”
He then asks whether the people he’s talking to can “imagine that guy dealing with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin and the president of China, who’s a fierce person?”
“He’s a fierce man. Very tough man,” he said of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Daily Beast said the video was provided by an unnamed source and acknowledged it is not clear when or where the clip was recorded.
Mr. Trump’s campaign has not explicitly commented on the clip, but said Thursday in a statement that this is the “total collapse” of the Democrats.
“Every Democrat who is calling on Crooked Joe Biden to quit was once a supporter of Biden and his failed policies that lead to extreme inflation, an open border, and chaos at home and abroad,” co-campaign managers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles said. “Make no mistake that Democrats, the main stream media, and the swamp colluded to hide the truth from the American public.”
They called Mr. Biden “weak, failed and dishonest” and referred to Ms. Harris as the “Cackling Copilot.”
The Biden-Harris campaign said in a statement: “No, Donald. What is bad is taking away women’s rights, what is bad is losing an election and encouraging a violent mob to attack the Capitol, what is bad is assaulting women, what is bad is not paying your taxes, what is bad is rooting for our economy to fail.”
News outlets reported Wednesday that a “key ally” to Mr. Biden said the president was thinking about dropping out of the election after his dismal debate performance last week.
But Mr. Biden and the campaign have denied that he is dropping out, even amid increasing calls for him to do so by Democrats.
“No one is pushing me out. I’m not leaving. I’m in this race to the end and we’re going to win,” the president said Wednesday during a Zoom call.
