The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran was killed in a helicopter crash several weeks ago. An election to replace him was labeled by many governments worldwide as a sham election.

General James L. Jones is a retired U.S. Marine four-star General who served as national security adviser to President Barack Obama. He is among a handful of people eminently qualified to discuss the relationship between America and Iran.

In this interview with Tim Constantine, Gen. Jones discusses the current regime in Iran and the danger it brings to the Middle East region, as well as an alternative government backed by much of the democracy-supporting world.

What role, if any, should the United States have in regime change in Iran? Tim Constantine digs deep with President Barack Obama’s national security adviser.
