Former President Donald Trump took to his social media outlet overnight to share in an all-capitals post that America and other countries were better off when he was in office.
“Russia never invaded Ukraine under Trump! Iran never invaded Israel under Trump!” Mr. Trump posted in his all-caps style at 1 a.m. Wednesday on Truth Social. “Nobody invaded anybody under Trump!”
“China never even thought of invading Taiwan under Trump!” he continued.
He referred to the 2021 withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, where 13 service members were killed in a bomb attack, as the “biggest ever embarrassment” and said it wouldn’t have happened under him.
He also said there was “no inflation” during his administration.
“What a different world it would be under Trump!!!” Mr. Trump posted.
It’s unknown what prompted Mr. Trump’s middle-of-the-night rant, but he has often touted that America was better off under his administration.
He has repeatedly blamed President Biden for high inflation.
“I gave him a country with no, essentially no inflation. It was perfect. It was so good. All he had to do is leave it alone,” Mr. Trump said during the June presidential debate.
The former president has said he would end the Ukraine-Russia war in one day if he’s elected again, although he has not said how he would do it.
