A Delta Air Lines flight from Detroit to Amsterdam had to be diverted to New York City after multiple passengers got sick mid-flight after eating spoiled food provided by the air carrier.

Delta Flight 136 left Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport for Amsterdam Tuesday evening, according to flight tracking website FlightAware, and had to divert to and land at John F. Kennedy International Airport at around 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Delta Flight 136 from Detroit to Amsterdam diverted to New York’s JFK early Wednesday morning after reports that a portion of the Main Cabin in-flight meal service were spoiled. This is not the service Delta is known for and we sincerely apologize to our customers for the inconvenience and delay in their travels,” the air carrier told Fox Business in a statement.

Out of the plane’s 277 passengers, 14 required medical treatment along with 10 crew members, a Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesperson told the Associated Press. No one was hospitalized. The Port Authority operates John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Neither authorities nor Delta said how many passengers ate spoiled food or what type of food it was.

The second leg of the flight from New York to Amsterdam took off at around 3:27 p.m. Wednesday and was scheduled to land Thursday , according to FlightAware.
