President Biden no longer has signs of COVID-19 and his rapid antigen test for the virus returned negative, his physician said Tuesday.

Dr. Kevin O’Connor said Mr. Biden will be monitored for any recurrence of illness. But the prognosis cleared the way for the president to return to public life.

“The president’s symptoms have resolved,” Dr. O’Connor wrote in a memo. “Over the course of his infection, he never manifested a fever, and his vital signs remained normal, to include pulse oximetry. His lungs remained clear.”

Mr. Biden has been quarantining at his Delaware home since his COVID-19 diagnosis on Wednesday, leading to an unusual situation in which he handed off his presidential candidacy to Vice President Kamala Harris while he was out of the public eye.

However, Mr. Biden rallied supporters by phone Monday to support Ms. Harris, who is in line to secure the Democratic nomination, and he plans to deliver a formal speech Wednesday.

“I will address the nation from the Oval Office on what lies ahead and how I will finish the job for the American people,” he said on X.
