OPINION:
Rachel Maddow said during her recent MSNBC broadcast about Joe Biden’s departure from the 2024 White House race that this president, this man, this larger-than-life gift to humanity is a “patriot,” a “selfless” devotee to country, a “phenomenal” leader, and a “decent and civil and honorable” individual.
Let the gaslighting games begin!
Biden, one of America’s worst presidents, has suddenly, overnight, in a blink of an eye, become the be-all and end-all of all of America’s best presidents. Why? How so? Here’s why; here’s how: Because he finally set aside his peevish, petty nature to acknowledge what we on the sane side of life all knew to be true from Day One of his administration — that is, that he’s utterly incompetent and unfit for the high office.
Of course, he didn’t say it that way.
He just agreed to bow out of the race because he realized he had no cards left to play to stay in the race. His polls were abysmal; his funding was drying; his own party was telling him to get out, go home, go sit in the sun on the Delaware beaches and live out his last days licking on ice cream cones and hanging with Hunter. But for that, suddenly, he’s a hero.
“I mean,” Maddow said, “this is just, this is history at large, you know? We all will remember where were were and what we were doing at this moment. What a man. What a patriot — what … selfless devotion to your country. He has been a phenomenal president. He brought us back from COVID … the Biden economy is literally the envy of the world. He ended the presidency of Donald Trump … and he did it while being decent and civil and honorable and normal .… There is no single thing that he has done in that entire career that is a greater or more consequential act of service and sacrifice for this country than what he has done to today. … I’m just blown away by the sacrifice and patriotism this moment embodies.”
Biden’s economy is all about the inflation.
Biden’s foreign policy is all about weak leadership — the kind that saw Russia invade Ukraine; Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis and Iran attack Israel; Afghanistan fall to the Taliban.
Biden’s legacy will be remembered as the guy who hung the LGBTQ flag from the White House — above the American flag — and as the puppet who couldn’t string together coherent sentences on the public stage. He’s the president who checked his watch as the bodies of American heroes were being offloaded from the plane from Afghanistan. He’s the brain-dead dude who called on the wheelchair-bound to stand for applause, and the deceased politician to come take a bow. He’s the commander-in-chief who fell walking up the stairs, fell riding his bike, fell walking across flat ground and, on camera, for all the world to see, struggled to find his sleeve and put on his jacket.
He’s the one who bungled his debate against Donald Trump so badly, the very same politicians in the very same party who told all of America that he was fit for office, suddenly decided he wasn’t fit — despite his fitness being about the same it’s been for three-plus years. It’s the polls, dontcha know. It’s the fact the Democrats couldn’t lie about his fitness level any longer because he bungled so badly against Trump even the sheep and low-information types who make up the Democrat Party were aghast. They saw he couldn’t win, so they threw him under the bus.
Then when he willingly went, they called him a hero.
Barack Obama now calls Biden a “dear friend and partner” and a “patriot of the highest order.” Bill and Hillary Clinton say Biden “has advanced our founders’ charge to build a more perfect union and his own stated goal of restoring the soul of the nation.” California Gov. Gavin Newsom says Biden has “delivered astonishing results for all Americans.” Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg says Biden is “among the best and most consequential presidents in American history.” Sen. Bernie Sanders says Biden “has been the most pro-working class president in modern American history.” Sen. Elizabeth Warren says Biden “built an economy that works for all of us.” Rep. Nancy Pelosi, former House speaker, says Biden is “one of the most consequential presidents in American history” and that “God blessed America with Joe Biden’s greatness and goodness.”
Really?
Ask any American on the street how much they’re paying for groceries now compared to 3½ years ago and there’s Biden’s “consequential” contributions to the economy.
Fact is, Biden has been a career politician with a reputation of being wrong on every foreign policy platform that’s come across his desk. He’s a plagiarizing, half-wit with scores of questionable dealings with other government officials. He’s the one who ordered supposedly free American citizens to take largely untested chemical shots into their arms — else lose their jobs, lose their incomes, lose their liberties; and he forced members of the military to do the same. And of late, he’s been the brain-damaged puppet of globalists, Marxists and anti-American entities who’ve exploited his weakness for great gain.
For years, Democrats loved him and told all of America to love him, too.
Then he showed himself as too unfit to cover up, and Democrats suddenly said he should leave.
Now that he’s leaving, he’s back in the Democrats’ good graces again. And they’re all rallying around him and painting him as a step below Mother Theresa and a step above any other president in American history.
America isn’t fooled.
Biden, to all but the lunatic fringe voters in the Democrat Party — the ones who would vote for a cat over Donald Trump — has been a terrible leader, a weak president, a foreign policy failure, an economic disaster, an immoral commander-in-chief and an all-around ignoramus since his inaugural days; since before his inauguration.
The fact he’s stepping aside from 2024 doesn’t change any of that — and neither do the number of Democrats who try to claim otherwise. Just as history remembers Clinton for his immorality and blue dress and Obama for his arrogant “pen and phone” claim to powers, Americans will remember Biden as he was and is: the brain-dead creation of the Democrats who led the nation to some of its darkest, most depressing and perilous days.
