Colorado Gov. Jared Polis is playful about the prospect of Vice President Kamala Harris picking him as her running mate.
“Look, if they do the polling and it turns out that they need a 49-year-old, bald and gay Jew from Boulder, Colorado, they got my number,” Mr. Polis, a Democrat, said Monday on CNN.
President Biden’s decision to bow to pressure to leave the race, due to concerns about his age and cognitive health dragging down the ticket, is fueling a storm of speculation over who will fill his shoes.
Mr. Biden has endorsed Ms. Harris, and other Democrats across the country have followed suit.
As a result, much of the focus has turned to who might serve as the party’s vice presidential nominee.
