Democratic governors are urging a White House meeting to discuss President Biden’s debate flop, according to a report Tuesday.

Worries over election ramifications were aired in a call Monday organized by Minnesota Gov. Tim Waltz, according to CNN. Also on the line were fellow Democratic governors and officials from the White House and Biden campaign.

Governors on the call vented frustration that none of them had heard from Mr. Biden himself, the report said.

However, the governors said they don’t want to go public with their concerns, fearing it would cause Mr. Biden to further entrench his refusal to leave the race, CNN said.

A separate NBC report revealed that Mr. Biden has yet to personally reach out to Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, both New York Democrats, or other Hill leaders in the aftermath of his bumbling debate performance against a robust Donald Trump.

The reports add to frustrations among Democrats across the country that Mr. Biden and his campaign have become overly insulated even as they try to squelch questions swirling about his future as the nominee.

Democratic officials in battleground states told The Washington Times on Monday that they’ve been kept in the dark and are operating without direction or guidance from the campaign on how to rehabilitate Mr. Biden’s image amid growing questions about his mental acuity.
