President Biden had mild symptoms but no fever Thursday as he remains in isolation due to a COVID-19 diagnosis, his doctor said.

Dr. Kevin O’Connor’s memo said Mr. Biden has mild upper respiratory symptoms and continues to receive a Pfizer treatment, Paxlovid.

“His vital signs remain normal,” Dr. O’Connor wrote in a memo distributed by the White House. “He will continue to conduct the business of the American people.”

Mr. Biden received a COVID-19 diagnosis on Wednesday while traveling in Las Vegas.

It couldn’t come at a worse time. He is facing Democratic calls for him to step aside from his candidacy given concerns about his advanced age and cognitive abilities.

At the same time, former President Donald Trump is basking in the glow of the GOP convention after surviving an assassination attempt over the weekend.

Dr. O’Connor said he will provide regular updates on Mr. Biden’s condition.

Earlier Thursday, White National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said he is hopeful Mr. Biden can meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when the Middle East leader visits Washington next week.

“We have every expectation that the two leaders will have the chance to see each other while Prime Minister Netanyahu is in town,” Mr. Kirby said, adding it would depend on Mr. Biden’s recovery.
