The NBA adjustment has been tough for Wizards center Alex Sarr, the No. 2 pick in last month’s NBA draft. The Frenchman’s struggles continued Tuesday as he shot 0-for-15 from the field in a Summer League game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

In 30 minutes of playing time, the 19-year-old recorded 0 points. He went 0-for-7 from 3-point range, 0-for-8 in the paint and 0-for-2 from the free throw line.

It was a historically bad night for Sarr. His 15 shots without a make were the most in Summer League play since 2017, according to ESPN. If Tuesday’s performance occurred in the regular season, it would be the second-most shots without a bucket in NBA history.

Entering the draft, analysts saw the 7-footer as a safe bet to develop into a quality starter. He’s a rim protector who showed off his playmaking and rebounding abilities in Australia’s NBL last season.

The highly touted prospect has averaged 6.7 rebounds, three blocks and three assists through his first three Summer League starts.

Before he can continue his path to NBA stardom, Sarr will have to withstand ridicule from fans after his historically inefficient performance.

“If this Alex Sarr performance got graded on the Bronny [James] scale I think he legit might deserve deportation back to France,” one basketball fan wrote on X.
