The Washington Commanders’ front office overhaul continued Monday with the addition of former Carolina Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer.

Fitterer will serve as a personnel executive under general manager Adam Peters, according to the Athletic’s Ben Standig.

The Panthers fired Fitterer in January after three seasons leading their front office. During that time, Carolina posted an NFL-worst 14-37 record.

The 50-year-old Fitterer started his NFL career as a scout with the Giants before rising through the ranks of the Seahawks’ scouting department from 2001-2020.

Fitterer’s hiring is the latest as Peters remakes the Commanders’ front office.

Washington’s general manager hired coach Dan Quinn in January before adding former Lions executive Lance Newmark as his assistant general manager in February.
