The Washington Wizards have agreed to sign forward Saddiq Bey in free agency, ESPN reported Wednesday.
The three-year contract would be worth up to $20 million, according to multiple reports.
The deal marks a homecoming for Bey, who played high school basketball at DeMatha Catholic in Hyattsville and Sidwell Friends in the District.
The Villanova product averaged 13.7 points per game last season with the Atlanta Hawks before suffering a torn ACL in March.
Bey joins a Wizards roster amid an extended rebuild. With no pressure to contend for a title next season, the 25-year-old will have the space to fully heal from his knee injury.
The 2021 All-Rookie forward was the No. 19 pick in the 2020 draft for the Detroit Pistons.
Bey is the latest addition in a busy offseason for the Wizards. The franchise selected Alex Sarr, Bub Carrington and Kyshawn George in the NBA draft before acquiring veteran center Jonas Valanciunas in a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans last week.
