Former President Donald Trump slammed former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as a “total nut job” who is now trying to convince the country that President Biden is mentally fit enough for another four-year term.

“Crazy Nancy Pelosi is more of a cognitive mess than Sleepy Crooked Joe. She also suffers from a terminal case of TDS, Trump Derangement Syndrome,” Mr. Trump wrote in a Truth Social post Wednesday.

“She is a total nut job, who impeached me TWICE, and lost. Now I see her going around, barely, and saying that I am a threat to Democracy,” he said. “No, this is just Radical Left Democrat Disinformation, which is all that they’re good at. She’s trying to convince anyone that will listen that Crooked Joe is a mental giant, and in great form, which everyone knows, he is not.”

The presumptive GOP nominee called her a “threat to Democracy, a very sick one.”

His comments come after Ms. Pelosi suggested Wednesday that Mr. Biden, 81, should rethink his vow to stay in the presidential race, but that she will support whatever decision he ultimately makes.

“It’s up to the president to decide if he is going to run,” she said on MSNBC. “We’re all encouraging him to make that decision. Because time is running short.”

Mr. Biden’s mental fitness has been questioned since the beginning of his second presidential run, but his poor performance at the debate in Georgia last month pushed the worry of his age to the forefront.

As the number of his Democratic colleagues calling for him to step aside in the race continues to grow, Mr. Biden maintains he is staying in the race because he is the choice of Democratic primary voters.
