A Tesla Cybertruck worth $109,000 crashed into a neighbor’s house just four hours after being delivered to its new owner, according to a new report.
Surveillance footage captured the incident, showing the vehicle speeding uncontrollably down a driveway before colliding with the side of a home, the Daily Mail reported.
According to the owner, the vehicle’s brakes appeared to malfunction, causing the “back brakes [to lock] while the car was accelerating,” rendering the steering wheel “non-responsive.”
The owner shared his frustrations on X, stating, “Waited 5 yrs for the girl and never connected to house WiFi.”
The vehicle’s horn was heard sounding intermittently following the crash, and the owner was seen running after the runaway Cybertruck.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident, although the vehicle sustained significant damage. Repairs are estimated to cost around $30,000, with a potential years-long wait for replacement parts.
The incident is the latest in a series of issues reported with the Tesla Cybertruck since its release in November 2023.
Tesla recently issued a fourth recall affecting approximately 11,000 Cybertrucks manufactured between November 13, 2023, and May 26, 2024.
