New York City police said they arrested a man three times within a week, including twice in the same day, on suspicion of stalking pop star Taylor Swift outside her Manhattan apartment.
Authorities said they arrested David Crowe twice on Wednesday after the suspect was detained near the singer’s Tribeca apartment building early in the day — and then spotted there again hours later.
Mr. Crowe, 33, of Seattle, was charged with misdemeanor stalking and harassment in the first incident Wednesday. The New York Post reported that he was hit with additional charges of criminal contempt once he wound up back in police custody.
As of Thursday afternoon, he is back on the streets, under supervised-release terms.
Prosecutors said Mr. Crowe has been spotted outside the building at least 30 times since Nov. 25.
Police said they were originally called to the residence on Wednesday for an “emotionally disturbed” man who was lingering outside the building and saying he was there to talk with Ms. Swift.
“Upon arrival, the male did leave the location and walked to the 1st Precinct where he was subsequently taken into custody without further incident,” NYPD said in a release about the Wednesday arrests.
Mr. Crowe also had been booked on Monday for acting erratically outside the building, police said.
Authorities added this week that the suspect also had been arrested Saturday on charges of failure to answer a summons stemming from an unspecified 2015 case.
