OPINION:
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5-4 — thanks John Roberts; thanks Amy Coney Barrett — in favor of Joe Biden’s administration, clearing the way for federal agents to pull back razor wire Texas had installed to keep out illegals.
So much for states’ rights.
So much for law and order.
As Business Insider wrote: “Two of the Supreme Court’s conservative justices just handed Joe Biden a major win at the southern border.”
And not only Biden — but chalk up major wins, too, for the scores of illegals who can now pass through the razor wires being cut, or soon-to-be-cut, by federal authorities who, curiously enough, draw their salaries from taxpayer pockets to keep out the illegals and to keep law and order at the border.
The feds weren’t doing the job.
So the state kicked in the resources and manpower to do the job instead.
Now the highest court in the land is saying to Texas to stop, at least for the time being?
Eagle Pass, Texas, has become a sort of horror show of border insurgencies, with image after image and video after video proving about anyone and everyone can cross — and do. Thousands have poured into America, only to be released by Team Biden incompetents to parts unknown across the nation, to be housed and fed and medically treated by tax dollars, to be treated like welcome guests and treasured visitors, rather than the criminals they are and ought to be labeled. Illegal border crossers by definition commit crimes; by definition, they’re therefore criminals.
Fed up Texans under the leadership of Gov. Greg Abbott launched Operation Lone Star and as part of the plan, installed razor wire all along the Rio Grande River. Since, the feds — under Biden’s authority — have been “cutting, destroying or otherwise damaging Texas’s concertina wire that had been strategically positioned for the purpose of securing the border,” according to court documents filed by the state seeking a preliminary injunction against the feds. In November, a federal judge said Texas needed to provide more evidence for its injunction, but also chastised the Biden administration for failing to perform border security. Abbott appealed; the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in Texas’s favor; Team Biden then turned to the U.S. Supreme Court for redress.
And now SCOTUS has spoken.
Now SCOTUS has handed the open border advocates in the Biden administration a clear path to an even more open border.
The Department of Homeland Security is demanding an immediate removal of all the razor wire as well as full access to the border — ostensibly, to help guide across more illegals into America.
“Asked if [federal border agents] reserve the right to cut through razor wire along the border despite the ongoing dispute, [a] source [told CNN]: ’This goes far beyond ‘reserving the right.’ The US Supreme Court has ordered it,’” CNN wrote.
The dispute is not ended. Litigation will continue.
“This is not over,” Abbott wrote on social media X. “Texas’ razor wire is an effective deterrent to the illegal crossings Biden encourages. I will continue to defend Texas’ constitutional authority to secure the border and prevent the Biden Admin from destroying our property.”
And from destroying our nation.
And from destroying our taxpayer pockets.
And from destroying our system of law and order.
And from destroying our Constitution and the concept of states’ rights.
The list goes on. Biden’s been buoyed by a wayward Supreme Court. What happens in Texas won’t stay in Texas. If the highest court in the land can’t see the logic in preserving America’s borders, the flow of illegals will grow larger and no state will be left untouched, and unchanged.
