MANCHESTER, N.H. — Former President Donald Trump leads former South Carolina Gov Nikki Haley by 19 points among likely Republican primary voters in New Hampshire in a poll taken after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis quit the race on Sunday.
The poll, conducted by Suffolk University, found Mr. Trump with 57% of the vote and Ms. Haley with 38%. She is Mr. Trump’s only remaining opponent.
It was taken Sunday afternoon, after Mr. DeSantis, who had been polling at around 6% in the Granite State, dropped out of the race.
Both Mr. Trump and Ms. Haley saw a two-point increase in support from Mr. DeSantis’s exit, according to the poll, which was sponsored by The Boston Globe and NBC-10.
The poll shows what appears to be an insurmountable lead for Mr. Trump ahead of Tuesday’s primary.
Ms. Haley continued barnstorming the state on Monday and both candidates will hold rallies Monday evening.
Mr. Trump’s event in Laconia will feature appearances from two of his former GOP primary rivals, biotech tycoon Vivek Ramaswamy and Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina.
The two will campaign alongside Mr. Trump in an effort to wrap up the primary after his likely win in New Hampshire.
The former president and his campaign team have urged the party to unite behind his candidacy, but Ms. Haley shows no signs of preparing for an exit.
She has scheduled a rally Wednesday in Charleston in South Carolina, which will hold a GOP primary on Feb. 24.
Mr. Trump is also leading by double digits in the Palmetto State, and on Monday picked up a new endorsement from Rep. Nancy Mace, who represents the Charleston and Beaufort areas.
Ms. Mace, in a statement, said she is endorsing Mr. Trump over her former governor because she believes the party needs to unite behind “our nominee” to defeat Mr. Biden.
“To be honest, it’s been a complete s—- show since he left the White House,” she said of Mr. Trump.
