The campaign arm of House Democrats is attacking House Republicans over their “extreme” abortion views in a new ad released on the anniversary of Roe v. Wade.

The ad released by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee features news clips talking about the abortion stances of Reps. Juan Ciscomani of Arizona, Young Kim of California and Brandon Williams of New York. The lawmakers have either argued against abortion, or have said the issue should be left up to the states.

The says the GOP has lost “every single abortion ballot initiative post-Roe.” It ends with House Speaker Mike Johnson, Louisiana Republican, saying: “We have every reason to be optimistic, my friends, that we can change public opinion.”

DCCC spokesperson Viet Shelton said House Republicans’ “extreme agenda is out of touch with the values and beliefs of everyday Americans.”

The ad comes on the 51st anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion. In 2022, the high court overturned the ruling, ending the federal right to abortion, and gave the decision back to the states. Since then, more than 20 states have restricted or banned abortion.

Democrats have made abortion rights one of their biggest selling points when it comes to trying to retake the House from a slim Republican majority.

President Biden has also used abortion for his reelection campaign, with a new ad released Monday slamming former President Donald Trump for his role in overturning Roe. The video features a woman from Texas who had to leave her state to have an abortion after she found out the fetus had a fatal condition.

A CBS News poll released at the end of last year found that 57% of Americans believe abortion should be legal in all or most cases.
