James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan pleaded not guilty in a case accusing him of trespassing near a dangerous hot spring at Yellowstone National Park.
This week, Judge Stephanie A. Hambrick approved Mr. Brosnan’s request to move a Tuesday court appearance to a Feb. 20 virtual meeting. He entered his plea on Jan. 4 in the U.S. District Court for Wyoming.
Mr. Brosnan is accused of leaving the designated walkways near the popular Mammoth Terraces at Yellowstone National Park near the Wyoming-Montana border on Nov. 1. A photo showing Mr. Brosnan standing in the snow near the hot spring was posted on social media that day.
Venturing off the Mammoth Terrace designated pathways is against federal law and can result in a six-month prison sentence and a fine of up to $5,000.
According to park management, the Yellowstone hot springs are hazardous. More than 20 people have died due to burns from the park’s geysers.
