Sen. Marco Rubio, Florida Republican, endorsed Donald Trump for the GOP presidential nomination on Sunday, just one day before the Iowa caucuses.

The endorsement for the former president is a snub to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley, who in 2016 endorsed Mr. Rubio for president.

“When Trump was in [the White House], I achieved major policies I had worked on for years (like expanded Child Tax Credit & tough sanctions on regime in Cuba & Venezuela) because we had a president who didn’t cave to special interests or let bureaucrats block us,” Mr. Rubio posted on social media.

He continued: “I support Trump because that kind of leadership is the ONLY way we will get the extraordinary actions needed to fix the disaster Biden has created.”

Mr. Rubio, who ran against Mr. Trump and others for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, adds to the roughly two dozen Republican senators, or half the 49-member conference, who have endorsed Mr. Trump.

Mr. Trump is expected to glide to victory in the Iowa caucuses on Monday, while the race for second is tight with polls giving Ms. Haley a slight edge over Mr. DeSantis.
