Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert’s former husband was apprehended on assault charges after an incident at a restaurant in her state over the weekend.

Jayson Boebert’s arrest came Tuesday in connection to an incident Saturday with Ms. Boebert. He was charged with disorderly conduct, misdemeanor assault, obstructing a police officer and aiming a firearm. Bail was set at $2,500, according to court records.

The confrontation happened at the Miner’s Claim restaurant in Silt. Details haven’t been made public, but the struggle between Ms. Boebert and her ex started while the two were “working through a difficult conversation,” according to Mr. Boebert.

Police officials haven’t released who eventually called authorities to the scene.

Ms. Boebert, Colorado Republican, said she put her hands on her ex to “keep him back” until the police arrived. Mr. Boebert told local media he did not intend to press charges.

The Boeberts divorced in 2023 after nearly two decades of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
