Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said former President Donald Trump is going to “lose” his presidential immunity case.

“Donald Trump’s going to lose that appeal,” Mr. DeSantis said at the Republican debate in Iowa Wednesday night. “He’s going to end up going to trial in front of a stacked left-wing D.C. jury of all Democrats.”

Mr. Trump has claimed absolute presidential immunity from the charges that he conspired against the U.S. in his attempt to overturn the 2020 election.

Federal appeals court judges did not seem convinced of his claim Tuesday as the three judges went over different scenarios.

The former president is currently facing two cases — one in Washington and one in Georgia — for his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
