A man working as a rigger in the crew of the upcoming Disney+ Marvel show “Wonder Man” died in a fall from the rafters Tuesday.

The man, 41-year-old Juan Carlos Osorio, died at the scene, the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner told the Los Angeles Daily News.

Mr. Osorio was on a catwalk in the rafters at L.A.’s Radford Studio Center when he fell, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Police didn’t say how far Mr. Osorio fell or specify the nature of his fatal injuries.

“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and friends, and our support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this accident,” a Marvel spokesperson told Variety.

The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, which represented Mr. Osorio, wrote on X that “Everyone in the IATSE family is shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic loss. We are working to support our member’s family and his fellow members and colleagues.”

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the fatal fall.

No filming was taking place at the time of the incident.
