The Washington Commanders are hiring Kliff Kingsbury as their new offensive coordinator, a source confirmed to the Washington Times.

Kingsbury served as the coach of the Arizona Cardinals from 2019 through 2022. He spent the 2023 season as an offensive analyst at the University of Southern California.

As the Cardinals’ coach, Kingsbury went 28-37-1. Before taking the top job in Arizona, he worked as the coach at Texas Tech from 2013 to 2018.

The Las Vegas Raiders were considering Kingsbury for their own offensive coordinator vacancy, NFL Network’s Peter Schrager reported. Contract negotiations between the two sides fell apart on Friday.

Kingsbury is the first major hire for new Commanders coach Dan Quinn, who boasts a defensive background.
