LeBron James single-handedly outscored the Los Angeles Clippers in the fourth quarter Wednesday as he led the Los Angeles Lakers to a 116-112 comeback win.
The 21-point fourth-quarter comeback was the largest of James’ career. The 39-year-old scored 19 points in the final frame while the Lakers held their rivals to just 16 points in the final 12 minutes.
“It’s just a zone, and you can’t really describe it,” James said after the game. “During it, you don’t feel anything. It’s just like a superpower feel.”
The four-time MVP added, “The game is not ever over until it’s double zeroes.”
“Kids, you too can say this corny stuff when you’re one of the best to ever lace them up,” one NBA fan wrote on X.
After the game, fans and analysts on social media lauded the 20-time NBA All-Star’s performance.
“What LeBron James is doing on the court is utterly ridiculous,” Fox Sports 1’s Emmanuel Acho wrote. “39 years old and just had the largest 4th quarter comeback of his career. Crown him, he’s king.”
Other players on the Lakers noted that they appreciate having a front-row seat for such dramatic performances.
“Sometimes you get to sit on the bench and you get to witness greatness and be a fan,” forward Anthony Davis said. “That’s what it was for a lot of us tonight.”
With the win, the Lakers are 32-28 and hold a play-in spot in the Western Conference.
