A Dallas County judge ruled that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones must take a paternity test as part of a lawsuit filed against him by a 27-year-old woman.
The plaintiff, Alexandra Davis, filed the suit in 2022, claiming that Jones, 81, is her father after his relationship with her mother, Cynthia Davis, in the mid-1990s.
Another judge had ruled that Jones had to take a DNA test, but his lawyers appealed. Then on Feb. 19, the Dallas County judge ruled the same way, ordering Jones to take a paternity test to determine the validity of Alexandra Davis’ claims.
“Today was a huge victory for many families. The ruling proves that being a rich, powerful person does not mean you are above the law. Alex no longer has to hide her truth, and hopefully she will get the peace she has always deserved,” Davis’ attorney, Kris Hayes, said in a statement to Dallas CBS affiliate KTVT-TV.
Jones’ lawyers have not commented publicly on the latest paternity test order.
