Marianne Williamson is back.
The self-help guru and two-time presidential candidate pulled out of the Democratic presidential race this month but switched gears Wednesday after receiving 3% of the vote in Tuesday’s Michigan primary — enough to edge out Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota.
“I have an important announcement to make: As of today I am unsuspending my campaign for the presidency of the United States,” Ms. Williamson said in a video posted on social media. “I had suspended it because I was losing the horse race, but something so much more important than the horse race is at stake here, and we must respond.”
Alluding to former President Donald Trump, Ms. Williamson said the nation has a “fascist” and a “juggernaut” knocking at the door and that the nation needs a bolder agenda than the one President Biden has laid out for the middle class.
Ms. Williamson said the nation needs Medicare for all, tuition-free college and guaranteed sick pay. She called for a cease-fire in the Israel-Palestinian conflict, reparations for African Americans and an end to the war on drugs.
“We have to respond to Donald Trump’s dark vision of possibility,” she said.
She added, “We are still in this; let’s do this. This is serious. We need to say to the American people we see your pain, and we need to say to Donald Trump we see your BS.”
