Republican U.S. Senate candidate Kari Lake of Arizona extended an olive branch to the daughter of the late Sen. John McCain this week.

And promptly got whacked with it.

After Meghan McCain posted on X earlier this week denouncing Kari Lake for backtracking on her previous attacks on the elder McCain as a “loser,” Ms. Lake offered to mend fences.

She got three words back, in all capital letters: “No peace, b—!”

Ms. Lake, in a lengthy post to Ms. McCain, said that “our children’s future is too important to let it slip away over past grudges or hurt feelings” and that she wanted to make their respective fathers “proud.”

“I’d love nothing more than to buy you a beer, a coffee or lunch and pick your brain about how we can work together to strengthen our state. My team is sending you my contact info — if you’re willing to meet, it would mean a lot to me. Thank you, Meghan. I hope we can connect soon! God bless,” Ms. Lake wrote.

The feud dates to 2022, when, during her unsuccessful bid for Arizona governor, Ms. Lake not only called the 2008 Republican presidential nominee a “loser” but also told any “McCain Republicans” at a rally to “get the hell out.”
