The Internal Revenue Service has the nerve to tax relief money paid to East Palestine, Ohio, residents, after last year’s toxic train derailment.

These people needed and received this money for food, shelter and relocation expenses so they could escape hazardous material spills and fumes. If anything, it is incumbent upon this year-late arrival by the White House occupant to issue an executive order mandating the IRS waive its proposed ludicrous taxes on these relief funds.

The people of East Palestine do not deserve such reprehensible treatment from smug, blockheaded Washington bureaucrats on top of the physical and mental pain they’ve already suffered at the hands of Norfolk Southern.

Not even the Russian government taxed relief money it paid to residents of Chernobyl in the aftermath of that nuclear reactor disaster. That says a lot about the IRS.
