Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said Tuesday that Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley will “kiss a—” when she bows out of the race for the GOP nomination.

“She’s going to drop down to kiss a— when she quits, like she always does,” Mr. Cheung posted on X Tuesday.

His post was in response to Ms. Haley making it clear Tuesday that she would not be dropping out of the race, saying quitting is the “easy route.”

Haley spokesperson Olivia Perez-Cubas responded to the post with “xoxo” and a kissy face emoji.

Betsy Ankney, Haley campaign manager, slammed back at Mr. Cheung, pointing out a demographic that former President Donald Trump struggles to grab and Ms. Haley does well with — women.

“What a move,” Ms. Ankney wrote on X. “@TheStevenCheung is the key to winning back suburban women! #AreYouTiredOfWinningYet.”

Mr. Trump and the former South Carolina governor will be battling on the ballot in South Carolina Saturday.

Ms. Haley, who was a U.N. ambassador in the Trump administration, said the race has just begun and she does not fear Mr. Trump.

“I feel no need to kiss the ring,” she said. “And I have no fear of Trump’s retribution.”

Mr. Trump continues to lead Ms. Haley in the South Carolina polls. He has already beaten her in the Iowa caucus and primaries in New Hampshire and Nevada. She has vowed to stay in the race through Super Tuesday.

Ms. Haley said she is the only one who can beat President Biden in the November election.

“At the end of the day, the only candidate who’s helping Joe Biden is Donald Trump, because Trump is the only Republican Biden can beat,” Ms. Haley said.
