Letter to the editor: Navalny becomes a martyr

OPINION:

Congratulations to Vladimir Putin. He has finally succeeded in murdering Alexei Navalny, the man who posed the greatest threat to Mr. Putin’s dictatorship (“Russia’s prison service says that imprisoned opposition leader Alexei Navalny has died,” web, Feb. 16)

Mr. Navalny dies a martyr and hero. He signed his own death warrant when he voluntarily returned to Russia after almost dying from being poisoned. He will never be forgotten by the freedom-loving people of the world.

Shame on anyone who would serve as an enabler to a head of state who kills his opponents.
