OPINION:
Rogelio Ortiz-Olivas, a 50-year-old illegal alien who’s been deported five times, was arrested in Midland, Texas, and charged with drunk driving and hit-and-run in a crash that killed a 10-year-old boy, Alex “A.J.” Wise Jr., as he walked home from school.
Border control, border control, border control — it’s the border, stupid.
Donald Trump will be the candidate of America in 2024 because he’s the guy who not only recognizes the threat of open borders, but who does something about it. Enough of the political chit-chat about border reform, border policy, bipartisan border blah-dee-dah. People are dying.
Kids are dying.
And it’s due entirely to Democrat malfeasance.
If Democrats had principles and policies and platforms that resonated with the American people — that voters truly desired — then the Democratic Party wouldn’t have to conceal its Marxist agendas and win votes solely by deception and denial, and by giveaways that include opening borders to the next government-dependent batch of loyal leftists. Democrats want borders open because they think that by giving these illegals some tax-funded entitlements, like food and clothing and medical care and hotels, and plane and bus rides to places where they can receive these entitlements, that they’ll solidify the next generation of faithful D-Party voters.
Ten-year-old boys who are mowed down by drunk truck-driving illegals are called collateral damage to Democrats.
It’s their “oh well” moment where they go silent for a time, until the pressure passes and passions subside and all those nasty law-and-order types get back to Capitol Hill to righteously and indignantly discuss, discuss, discuss new ways to control the border — all the while the border stays wide open and illegals flood into America. Democrats will play the media game about the need to control the surge of illegals. So long as nothing gets done — so long as illegals aren’t arrested but rather accommodated, and fixed up with cushy accommodations at taxpayer expense — so long as the rule of law is debased and destroyed, well then, Democrats will play the border control game with Republicans and agree that yes, America needs border controls.
“According to the Midland Police Department … Ortiz-Olivas was driving a truck when he hit Wise, who was walking home from school. Immediately, police said, Ortiz-Olivas fled the scene, leaving Wise in critical condition. Wise was airlifted to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, but died from his injuries the following morning,” Breitbart reported.
The funeral is Saturday.
The borders are still open.
What kind of scum rams his truck into a little kid and then flees the scene? Then flees and leaves the little kid on the side of the road?
The same type of scum who shot and killed a 32-year-old woman named Kathryn “Kate” Steinle as she walked along a pier with her father in San Francisco in 2015. The perpetrator then, like now with Wise, was an illegal with a past that included five previous deportations.
Trump in 2015 and 2016 spoke numerous times of Steinle’s fate, which came in large part due to Democrats’ embrace of open borders and Barack Obama’s presidential head-patting of illegals and San Francisco’s sanctuary city status that welcomed illegals. And a frustrated and fed-up America, tired and wearied of illegals mowing down citizens as they drove around drunk, and raping women and girls as they roamed around freely, and shooting and killing innocents as they walked around without concern of apprehension and deportation, found in Trump a message that rang loudly — one that went like this: We will control the border. We will deport illegals. We will protect our nation’s sovereignty.
“[W]hat do you say to the family of Kathryn Steinle in CA who was viciously killed b/c we can’t secure our border? Stand up for US,” Trump tweeted in July of 2015, directly to Sen. Marco Rubio, who was one of many on Capitol Hill discussing border reforms — discussing but not doing.
And in November 2017, when Steile’s shooter was found not guilty of murder, but rather only manslaughter, Trump tweeted this: “A disgraceful verdict in the Kate Steinle case! No wonder the people of our country are so angry will illegal immigration.”
Now here we have a 10-year-old boy, described in a GoFundMe post for his memorial as “the sweetest, coolest, funniest little boy you ever would meet.”
Democrats ought to see the writing on the wall and realize that if Americans elected Trump in 2016 because of his border control message, which came on the heels of the senseless killing of a 32-year-old woman by an illegal, then think how many voters are going to cast ballots for him this time around, on the heels of the senseless killing of a 10-year-old boy by an illegal.
A.J. Wise is to 2024 what Kate Steinle was to 2016: the face of senseless killings by illegals who shouldn’t be in this country in the first place.
And voters know Trump is the guy who will stop those senseless killings.
