Before the Super Bowl, some Republicans alleged that pop singer Taylor Swift was a psychological operative pushed by the Pentagon to help President Biden win reelection. Now, she may be dropping into the White House.

During Monday’s press briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre fielded inquiries on Ms. Swift’s potential invitation to the pending event.

“I’m wondering: When the Chiefs are invited to the White House, does the White House intend to also invite Taylor Swift?” a reporter asked.

“That’s going to be up to the Chiefs and, obviously, their decision to figure out who’s going to come with them when they come. And as you know, it’s a White House tradition. … I can’t speak to attendance and who will be here. But we look forward … to having them here. And, obviously, we congratulate them on a … great win,” Miss Jean-Pierre said.

Ms. Swift publicly supported Mr. Biden in the 2020 election. The president riffed on the conspiracy theories that emerged before Sunday’s Super Bowl, joking about them on his personal social media channel.

Speculation regarding Ms. Swift’s attendance doesn’t end with the White House visit. Anticipation is building around whether she will join the Chiefs for their victory parade on Valentine’s Day. Her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, is a tight end with the National Football League champions.

As Kansas City prepares for the parade, officials such as City Manager Brian Platt are gearing up security in anticipation of huge crowds due to Ms. Swift’s involvement.

“That’s going to be a whole second level of security issues that we have to deal with — the crowds and all that sort of thing,” he told public radio station KCUR. “So we are more than ready. We have no concerns with our safety protocols and what we’re doing to make sure that the route will be free of any issues.”

He added, “I can’t confirm or deny, but we might have already told that to her team, just to keep everybody safe and make things a little bit easier for us.”

Ms. Swift is in the midst of an international tour. Her next show will be Friday in Melbourne, Australia, giving her enough time to join the parade Wednesday.
